Security
Secure Ordering – your details are safe on this site
Care Shop is committed to providing a secure online shopping service.
We use industry leading encryption technology to ensure the security of your information. All communication between your browser and our server will be safe in the secure areas of our site.
Secured by Comodo
This site is verified by Comodo - one of the most established Certification Authorities worldwide.
Comodo is a leading global Certification Authority. Their SSL and code signing digital certificates are used globally to secure servers, provide data encryption, authenticate users, protect privacy and assure online identities through stringent authentication and verification processes. More information about Comodo can be found on the Comodo website.
Protection of Information Being Transmitted
This site uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) up to 256-bit encryption, the industry standard and best available secure transaction technology. This technology lets you select "secured" or "unsecured" shopping.
If your browser is capable of SSL, you should use the "secured" option, which means all sensitive information will be encrypted before being sent over the Internet. Your checkout transactions are secure from unauthorised access (SSL is supported by Netscape 2.0+, Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0+, and most frames-enabled browsers). When you initiate a checkout transaction, the rest of your visit will take place on our secure server. Every secure page on our website has been secured with a digital certificate by Comodo Security Solutions, Inc. This is indicated by the "site certificate" that is resident on all secure pages.
How can I check that the connection is secure?
You should only ever carry out confidential transactions over secure internet connections. Connections like these make it hard for others to spy on you and steal your personal details. But how can you tell if you have a secure website connection?
Look for the padlock
When you enter login, registration and checkout screens you will be in a 'secure session'. Depending on the browser you have chosen, a padlock will display in either the address bar or at the bottom of the browser window. It means that your personal information will be coded before it leaves your computer.
Check our web address
The first few characters of the web address in your address bar will change from the usual http to https – the 's' stands for secure.
Check our secure certification from Comodo
To view our Comodo certificate double click on the padlock icon displayed by your browser window when in secure areas of the site or click here.
3D Secure
To further protect your security we have introduced the 3D Secure 'MasterCard SecureCode' and 'Verified By Visa' system. These services are provided by MasterCard and Visa and allow you to protect your card details using your own password.
If you are already set up with 'MasterCard SecureCode' or 'Verified By Visa' a secure window from your financial institution will appear requesting the password for your card. Simply enter your password and click submit.
If you are not already set up you may be given the option to create a password for your card. Once this has been done you will be able to continue with your order. Any future orders you place either at Care Shop or any other website that uses 3D Secure will ask for this password during the payment process.
More information about 3D Secure, 'MasterCard SecureCode' and 'Verified By Visa' can be found on the Shop Safe Online website.
